On June 12, 2024, the Oklahoma Business Roundtable hosted its annual business and membership meeting at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa. We were honored to have both Governor Stitt and Lt. Governor Pinnell address the well-attended membership audience. Both gave excellent overviews of State's business activity and reflected on their optimism for the State's future.
Our program featured an impressive lineup of speakers:
Dr. Jesse McCool, CEO and Founder of Wheeler Bio
Kathy Cullen, CFO of the Oklahoma City Innovation District
Megan Gelmers, Development and Investment Manager of Newmark Robinson Park
Dr. Carol Curtis, CEO and Co-Founder of Cadenza Bio
Mike Smith, Washington D.C. Representative for Wheeler Bio
John Hanak, Former Chief Innovation Officer for the University of Oklahoma
They discussed the evolution and future of the bioscience industry in Oklahoma, including the impact of the Bio Secure Federal legislation. Additionally, they highlighted Oklahoma's newest organization, Life Science Oklahoma, which advocates for the state's dynamic and diverse life sciences and healthcare communities.
Dr. McCool, a great advocate for this industry, shared valuable insights on the future of biosciences and its potential for Oklahoma's economic growth. We appreciate his contributions and the engaging discussion with this distinguished panel.
We also had the opportunity to thank Dave Stewart, CEO of Mid America Industrial Park for his past year as Chairman of the Board and welcome Jeff Davis, Partner of Acorn Growth Companies as our new Board Chair.
The Oklahoma Business Roundtable is the State's only economic development support organization helping to move the state forward and we appreciate the great support from our member organizations and the individuals who serve on our Board.
The next membership meeting will be on October 10, 2024 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
