OBR was thrilled to welcome over 130 members to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum for its annual Executive Briefing.
After a brief update on OBR activities, OBR Chairman Sean Kouplen and Governor Kevin Stitt participated in a fireside chat, discussing the Governor's time in office, current priorities, and what’s next for Oklahoma. Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell also provided important updates on his priorities and ongoing initiatives.
Next, we had an update from John Budd, CEO of the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. He highlighted impactful new leadership team hires and recent project wins, and previewed Commerce's newly finalized strategic plan. Budd emphasized that Commerce is well-prepared to tackle upcoming opportunities in 2026. Additionally, Commerce Secretary Deborah Moorad discussed the appointments and roles within the newly formed Commerce Board, outlining how this initiative will support Oklahoma's long-term economic development.
A highlight was an exclusive showing of "The Cowboy: An Immersive Journey." This groundbreaking 360° cinematic experience has been in development for almost two years and offers a unique exploration of the life and legacy of the American cowboy. The show immerses guests in sweeping landscapes, historic imagery, cinematic sound, and original music, placing them inside the heart of the American West's story. Guided in part by the real journal of a 19th-century cowboy and narrated by Tom Selleck, this experience traces the evolution of the cowboy—from open range cattle drives to rodeos, popular culture, and the modern West.
The evening concluded with a networking reception.
