From Our President

I want to make you aware of the work of the Oklahoma Business Roundtable and encourage your membership this year. 

 

Now in its 32nd year, the Roundtable serves as the state’s only economic development support organization. It is a nonpartisan, nonprofit group of business leaders which directly assists state leaders, the Department of Commerce and other statewide economic development partners

Today, over 170 of our state’s top business leaders participate, including executives from a diverse group of companies including: Boeing, OnCue, Paycom, Dell, Love’s, Groendyke, Bar-S, Frontier Electronic Systems, BOK, Michelin, M-D Building Products, Republic Distributing and OG&E.  

 

Our program of work enhances strategic economic development in three areas: 

 

• Business retention and expansion – helping workforce, manufacturing and supplier development and assisting companies to expand and grow into new markets. 

• Supporting innovation – growing new technologies and technology workers. 

• New business recruitment – inviting domestic and global companies to establish a presence in our state or partner with Oklahoma companies on new products and services. 

 

We support and participate in numerous projects focused on growing existing companies and attracting new investment and talent to Oklahoma In recent months we have assisted our partners with 57 projects, 6400 new jobs and $3.7 billion in investment. We also assisted the development of a new online supply chain tool “Connex Oklahoma” that matches Oklahoma manufacturers with potential customers/suppliers.

 

Member benefits include networking with business colleagues and government leaders in small gatherings at least three times per year. We also hold bi-monthly meetings with our Governor and special strategic industry development sessions.

 

Our fiscal year begins July 1 and ends June 30. Annual membership dues are $5,000. Enclosed are: FY 2021-2022 Executive Report, lists of current Roundtable directors and members, quarterly newsletter and membership form. 

 

On behalf of our board, let me take this opportunity to invite you to join the Oklahoma Business Roundtable this year. We also hope you or your designee can be with us for our next meeting and networking event in Oklahoma City on October 20th at 4:30 pm  at the Oklahoma History Center. The Governor and state leaders will join us.
